Emma’s Paperie | April Project Share

Hello crafty friends. I’m back to share all the crafty goodness I worked up for the month of April for the Emma’s Paperie Blog.

As always, there are four projects with a different challenge for each and because it’s spring time there’s loads of fun colors, florals, and textures. I loooved every single one of the projects I made this month.

But who am I kidding? I love all of the projects I make! Bahaha. Talk about modest right?

Alright, here are the four projects I made for April and the specs. Hope you enjoy!

April Color Challenge

This month’s color challenge was one with some pastel-ish colors.

I didn’t quite get the colors correct, mainly because of that purple that was throwing me off (not my color).

But regardless, I tried my best and used up my oh so gorgeous Paige Evans Horizon supplies.

I documented our Easter from last year in the Mini Book I made here, but still had some photos left so I scrapped this one directly on a layout. It was our last Easter as a family of three!

Here are some closeups:

There are still plenty of Horizon supplies left in the shop, so if you wanted some then RUN, don’t walk! Ha.

April Sketch Layout

I had my turn to choose the sketch for April so I searched and found this fun grid layout sketch.

It’s fabulous!

I am a huge fan of grid style layouts because you can just keep coming back over and over again to them and there’s never one layout/grid alike. This one in particular has layering and so many fun details.

With this sketch in mind I made this lovely piece:

I used some more of the Crate Paper Sunny Days collection and a whole lot of different kinds of supplies. It was fun to use up pieces and ephemera in all sizes to create my grid.

I backed my layout with about an inch all around using a pretty seashell patterned paper, and added glitter texture paste for some texture. You really gotta look closely in these images, but it’s slightly visible.

Here are some fun closeups:

As you can see, I didn’t really keep to the sketch, but I followed the guidelines, ie. layers, large central grid, patterned paper frame etc. and it worked perfectly!

Try it out for yourself. Grid layouts are always fun!

April Stencils Challenge

So this month we pushed our creativity by challenging ourselves with a stencil challenge. If you’ve never used stencil I would highly recommend that you give them a try.

There are many ways to use them but one of my favorites is pairing the stencil with some modeling paste. You’ll also need a spatula to spread the paste!

Here’s a look at my SUPER minimal stencils layout:

I have quite a collection of stencils that I have ordered from the shop, so much that I didn’t even realize I had a beautiful floral cluster stencil. As soon as I saw it I plastered it straight on the middle of my page.

It looked so delicate and airy. So I decided to bring out a photo of the lace decal on my wedding dress and it fit with that airy theme I was going for. To embellish a bit I used the Crate Paper Sunny Days gold foil die cuts, good splatters, and a small title using wood grain alphas.

April Company Spotlight – American Crafts

This month’s company spotlight was focused on American Crafts. It took me a while to decide with supplies to use but I decided to use only my Amy Tangerine supplies and loads of textures to create a layout.

As you can see I’ve got all kings of textural pieces all around my page, and they are all Amy Tangerine.

I love my mix of supplies. I even took the time to stitch some of the florals!

Here are some closeups of all the details to this layout, (there’s tons!):

These inflated embellishments were so completely unique and I knew I just had to use them!

My son was an absolute fan of this layout, as you can see…

So, scrappy peeps, I hope you have enjoyed my April project share. These layouts were so fun to make and I have enjoyed using all of these lovely supplies.

I hope to have inspired you to go get scrappy! I’ll be back soon with more creative inspiration.
