Mini Album | Easter Fun

Welcome back crafty friends! I am excited to be here today to share a fun interactive Mini Album I created using the brand new Maggie Holmes Sunny Days collection by Crate Paper.

I am documenting my family’s Easter from 2018.

I had tons of photos and once I got to editing them, I knew I had to make an Easter mini, even if it’s photos from last year. Plus, I can now check that event off my list! Winning all around.

I hope you are ready for all the pics and closeups!

Let’s start off by talking about the design of the album…

I started off with 4 pieces of 6″x12″ white card-stock.

I then score them at the 5″ mark and the 10″ mark. You end up with two large folds of 6″x5″ and one small one of 6″x2″.

Like so…

I stuck all four of my strips back to back. This made two small strips “pages” that you’ll see being used to create plastic shaker pockets in the final mini! The rest of the mini I just simply folded accordion style.

Once I got the foundation of my mini all done, I cut out patterned paper to layer on top of the white. Those sheets we cute into 5 3/4″x4 3/4″ and then 2″x6″ for the smaller strip pages.

I stuck some of those papers down, but left a few open blank pages to add some mixed media using the Sunny Days stencils! They are, in short, amazing! And they fit perfectly in the mini.

I used three different colors and mediums to add 4 stenciled pages to my book.

I used some hot pink glitter modeling paste, some light pink acrylic paint, and some white gesso.

Here’s a look at the foundation accordion mini before the embellishments…

As I mentioned before, I used the Sunny Days collection. Although the collection has a summer theme, it still worked perfectly for my Spring photos.

So, here come the closeups. Once my mini’s foundation was finished and dry, I had a ball filling it in. It took me about 4 days. But I came in little by little and filled it in until my heart was happy. I hope you enjoy!
